Helping Indigo and Crystal children
By Allan J Sweeney
‘“Indigo” or “Crystal” are names currently given to exceptionally gifted children. The children are commonly thought of as being special in one of two ways. Either they have a deep awareness of spirituality, love, and angelic beauty. Or they have an unusual talent or gift of knowledge or ability that is far in advance of their age. Many have both.
‘These types of children have always existed. History books are full of adults who were gifted and individualistic children. The difference nowadays is that they are being recognised not as individuals, but as a group.
If we are to help these individuals in a group context, two questions need to be asked.
‘Is it good for a child to have a group identity?
‘Are the children’s individual gifts supported and fostered adequately?
‘These two questions are important if we are to help our next generation of youngsters reach their potential to help our world. It is easy to help a group of like-minded souls who all understand spirituality, love and beauty, as religions have found over the centuries. But as school educational systems have found, it is not so easy to help children with individual gifts.
‘The answer to these apparent contradictions lies in the children’s deepest soul nature, and whether their special talent or gift could become a job to help our world. Neither the soul nor the gift is particularly easy to understand, because they are both so unusual, and there is no model yet available to help the understanding for those who want to help these children. Well-meaning people try to help, but they only help what they know themselves, not what the special child might need.
‘Many people believe that all the child needs is to be taught about love. They give them healing, teach them reiki or some other subject they know, chat about God, show the life of Jesus, anything that the ‘helper’ knows already. So what’s the problem with this?
‘Well, learning about spirituality and love outside is useful to children who don’t have love inside because they need a framework to understand love. Conversely, if the child does have a deep inner awareness of spirituality and love, they do not need to learn about love from outside them, because they already know love.
‘Yes they need to be loved. They need to feel love from others connect to their inner love.
‘But much more than that, they need to understand how lucky they are to have such beautiful inner feelings; to know that not everyone feels the same; to accept the horrors of our world before the conflict between their soul and humanity sets in during their teens or 20s; and to realise that one day, if it was right, maybe many years in the future, their job might help many in need.
‘So teaching about God and love does not help an Indigo or crystal child much. They need to learn other angles about the child’s soul. Unfortunately the ‘helper’ is often unaware or knows nothing about soul evolution. So the child is taught things that of course they will enjoy, but from which in the medium to long term they will gain little benefit. What we need is counsellors trained in specialist methods to help the inner soul and the unique conflicts that may arise.
‘Let’s discuss the other type of Indigo or Crystal child, the type with a special gift or talent. What do ‘helpers’ want them to do with their lives? Develop their talent, pass on their gift? Of course they do. But how can they help the child do this when the gift really is exactly that, a gift. You see, a gift is not something that can be copied, not something that can be known about by many, not something where there will be much understanding. There will possibly be very few teachers in the subject of the gift. And even if there were, the gifted child may know more than the teacher, at least in some aspects.
‘The way to help gifted, talented children is to find a teacher who specialises in the subject they’re gifted in. Not any teacher. Only a brilliant teacher will suffice. University standard is probably needed. Then the child will feel happy, knowing they can converse and develop their gift with someone who truly understands.
‘This naturally means that there will rarely be only person to help. Very few people have immense breadth of knowledge across many subjects and deep wisdom on each subject too. Most people either have a little knowledge about many things, or much knowledge about a few. And anyway, many children will be gifted in subjects that are not common. I personally met a seven-year old girl who had being doing spirit rescue work since she was three, and hadn’t told anyone because she knew they wouldn’t understand. And an eight-year old girl who was learning reflexology in her dreams at night – she healed her mother’s back problem by pressing on a point in the foot she’d learned in her sleep. And a seven-year old girl who could see colours inside everyone, and know what they meant and how to change the colour to heal the person - she hadn’t told her parents because she thought they wouldn’t understand. And so on. Not many people could have helped one of these children, let alone two.
‘So how do Indigo and Crystal children get real help, support and guidance? First, if you find one, you have to recognise their special gift, their special inner love. Or you have to recognise the signs as they talk, signs that others would not recognise. But to do this you need vast knowledge, many years of training to have a wide and deep grasp of many subjects. And to do this, you need to train for many years in many subjects. You can do this with Allan J Sweeney teachings. Many subjects are available to learn in depth at the residential College overlooking the sea in Margate. Alternatively, refer the Indigo or Crystal child to Allan J Sweeney for guidance of what to do next.
As masters we dedicate our lives to our work. Work is fun, and fun is work. For when we help relieve suffering, or support a new master to tread their path on Earth, especially at such a young age, fun is automatic.
