For example, an Indian lady patient's husband physically abused her terribly. She couldn't leave because divorce is awful stigma in her culture. If family found out, she'd have to commit suicide. She thought the only way was to kill herself now, and not let family discover her marriage had failed. I helped her find strength of mind and emotion to achieve better options. I'll always remember, after her divorce she brought her ex-husband to a Reiki course!
Today I met another type of abused lady. She'd only had three partners. The first was a controlling form of abuse; and the second broke her bones and 'stole' almost $100,000 from her.
Unlike some women, she learned lessons. When she discovered her third partner was arrested for hitting his wife, she stopped the relationship immediately.
In her words, "I'm happy. I learned in life. I went along with it and enjoyed it anyway, but learned not to take ‘the shit’. I tried to resolve things in my head, and not put myself in that abused position again. Not surround myself with people who are negative and destructive. You only want good people in your life, don't you?"
She's in her late 40s and happy, but at times her physiogmony shows the inner stress of her abusive past.
Menopause may be next on her list of life stresses.
My menopause patients fall into two main categories.
1. Women who had a wonderfully happy life, or an unhappy life fully healed through therapy.
This category seems to have mild menopausal symptoms that don't last long.
2. Women who had a tough life that, regardless of whether or not they had therapy, are unhealed on deep inner levels.
This category seems to have tough menopausal symptoms that can last many years.
I've previously recommended to abused ladies the free book/therapy "SCREEN", and the CD "Two Therapies for Mental and Emotional Healing" on this website. These methods heal about 75% of emotional and mental problems in one session - before the menopause may bring problems to the surface.
My prayers today are, when this lovely, happy lady has her menopause, if she doesn’t have adequate therapy, that unconscious troubles don't cause a tough or prolonged menopause.
