1. Two teams, Manchester United and Manchester City could have won the league – Manchester United lost, in the final minute of that year-long battle.
2. Two teams could have been relegated, Queens Park Rangers or Bolton. Bolton was sent to the lower division.
3. Only one of two teams, Arsenal or Tottenham, were guaranteed a place in next year’s European Cup. Tottenham lost out.
(Tottenham technically could gain a place in Europe if Chelsea lose this year’s European Cup Final.)
These seven teams have millions of supporters. Just Manchester United’s Facebook followers number 25 million - while Arsenal and Chelsea have 10 million each.
But their emotions... Phew!
TV showed sad, depressed Manchester City fans crying, weeping, sobbing, while Manchester United fans jumped ecstatically, in joy. With minutes left to play, City thought they’d lost the league, United thought they’d won. But two City injury time goals meant joyously ecstatic fans became sad and depressed, and vice versa.
Even Oasis singer Noel Gallagher admits he "cried like a baby" when his team scored the winner!

That scenario, joy and ecstasy versus sadness and depression, is a global phenomena. After Chelsea's European Cup match soon, their 10 million Facebook fans could feel joyous and happy - or sad and depressed!
'Negative' emotions are repeated after football results around the world. 50% of the supporters of every match may feel sad, depressed and so on. Millions of people potentially need therapy to heal their roller coaster negative emotions and traumas.
This is not exactly a serious comment. But perhaps it’s time for therapists to set up healing booths outside stadiums? You could have a queue at the Olympics...
