Today I watched a new deacon be ordained. "A deacon reaches out to the poor, the sick, the elderly, the divorced, the imprisoned and others in order to first address their human needs. He does charitable, administrative and welfare work in the name of the Church."

Dr Hugh Quigley is the first cleric of THE OPEN EPISCOPAL CHURCH to live and work in Northern Ireland. He intends to relieve suffering near Belfast in Northern Ireland, a Protestant stronghold, where outrages have occurred for decades. Tough cities need help from tough people. I wondered if he’s tough enough.
He is. With a doctorate in hypnotherapy, he’s helped chronic cases of drug and child abuse. I also did that work, from a psychiatrist’s Harley Street clinic in London. Our brief chats were on deep levels of understanding.
For help from an unconditionally loving N Ireland priest, contact me, and I'll forward your requests.
Or, if like Hugh you might like to help others by becoming a deacon, ask. Here are the 'normal' criteria.
